3CX Bridge Configuration

Creating the Master Bridge

  1. Navigate to “Bridges” from the 3CX Management Console and click “Add > Master Bridge”.
  2. Enter a name for the bridge and make note of the virtual extension number, as this will be required when creating the “Slave” bridge connection.
  3. Specify the “Outbound Rule Prefix” to be used for the “Master” bridge.
  4. Add the maximum amount of simultaneous calls to be made through this bridge.
  5. Enter an “Authentication” password that will be used by the Slave bridge to connect.
  6. To send all SIP and RTP traffic via a single TCP port, select the “Remote PBX uses SBC/ Tunnel Connection” option.
    • If enabled, enter the public IP address of the “Slave” 3CX phone system and specify the remote 3CX Tunnel port.
  7. Click “OK” and the 3CX bridge will be created.
  8. Navigate to the “Outbound Rules” section and add a new rule, entering a name and the prefix from step 3.
  9. Select your newly created bridge from the “Route” drop-down and press OK.

Creating the Slave Bridge

  1. On the “Slave” phone system, select “Bridges” from the 3CX Management Console and click “Add > Slave Bridge”.
  2. Enter a name for the slave bridge and use the virtual extension number from the “Master” 3CX phone system.
  3. Specify an “Outbound Rule Prefix”, ensure it is the same as the prefix used for the “Master” bridge.
  4. Enter the authentication password from the “Master” phone system.
  5. Enter the Public IP of the “Master” bridge in the remote PBX section, and click OK to create the bridge.
  6. Add a new rule in the “Outbound Rules” section, entering a name and the same prefix as above.
  7. Select your bridge from the “Route” drop-down and select OK.

Configure Presence Information across Bridges

  1. Select “Publish Information” to publish presence information and select “Add” to add which groups on the PBX should be published.
  2. For users in this 3CX system to see presence of users in other offices, select “Receive Information”.
  3. Add the Public IP address of the remote phone system and select “Add” to add users or groups.
